Feeling strong in our bodies can create a deep sense of empowerment that transcends the purely physical aspect of strength; it is the foundation for resilience, balance, and confidence in everything we do.
When we cultivate our inherent strength, we become more connected to ourselves, more grounded, and better equipped to face the demands of everyday life.
Integrating resistance training and Yoga into your lives can have profound benefits, particularly for women: Strength training, such as resistance work with weights, bands, and body weight, is a powerful tool to build muscle mass, enhance bone density and support metabolic health. Research shows that strength training can also help in balancing hormones, reducing symptoms of menopause, and improving overall energy levels and mood.
The ancient practices of Yoga teach us discipline, patience and self-acceptance. Asana, meditation, pranayama and chanting are powerful tools to remind ourselves that we are more than our narratives, more than our bodies and minds, and help us connect to a sense of gratitude and devotion for life.
Ainoa and Sheila join forces for this retreat and bring together Strength Training and Jivamukti Yoga.
Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Coach Ainoa Ryll will teach you key movement patterns like push, pull, hinge and squat and how to execute those correctly so you can progress safely and effectively with your workouts. During guided group workouts, Ainoa will give individual feedback on form and technique and create a supporting and fun environment that helps you build confidence on your strengthening journey.
Advanced Certified Jivamukti Yoga teacher Sheila Ilz van Hofen will guide you through dynamic and powerful asana classes, paired with grounding meditations, chanting and pranayama techniques. She provides insights on how to build more strength within your yoga practice to counterbalance flexibility, avoid injuries and build stamina.
Chef and nutritionist Margan Sharifzada ensures your nutrition matches the physical demands and creates a nourishing, delicious and healthy menu for you.
With this retreat, we want to support you tapping into your strength, unraveling the true force of nature that lies within you.
Whether you're a gym rat interested in Yoga or a Yogi new to strength training - this retreat will provide you with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to independently continue your journey after you return home and implement what you’ve learned.

January Sanctuary Retreat at Gutshaus Friedenfelde
Let's cosy up together again this winter and spend time in precious togetherness, diving deeply into yogic practices, enjoying walks, saunas, alone time and nourishing food.
We start our mornings in silence with tea and coffee, have meditation, pranayama and chanting before we practice asana (Jivamukti Style).
After practice, there will be a big brunch, followed by free time to take naps, go on walks, and use the sauna. Afternoons are dedicated to a workshop & yin yoga. In the evenings, we'll gather for dinner, hang out by the fireplace and have kirtan (mantra chanting).
I came up with a new location that I fell in love with: Guthaus Friedenfelde.
2 spots in a double room and spots in a 4 bedroom left. Write me an email to sheilailzvanhofen@gmail.com to receive more information and to secure your spot.
Shooting Stars: High Summer Jivamukti Retreat with Gunny
The Perseiden night is a reminder that, just like the stars, we are all part of something much greater—a cosmic symphony playing out in the heart of August's warmth.
The highlight of our week together will be a cozy stargazing gathering to Perseiden night, celebrating the high summer, sending our wishes out into the universe and honoring the interconnectedness of all things.
WE WARMLY INVITE YOU TO THE SOFT OPENING OF VILLA PRAVERNARA.
Villa Pravernara founder Sheila and her dear friend Gunnhildur, both Advanced Jivamukti Yoga teachers from Berlin, are hosting this retreat together.
In the embrace of Italy's August warmth, our gathering unfolds beneath the high summer sky - the week of Perseiden, where shooting stars streak across the vastness above. The Perseiden comets leave trails of light across the darkened sky, inspiring us to release our own wishes and intentions into the universe.
DAILY SCHEDULE
In the mornings, Sheila and Gunny will guide you through an extended morning practice, including talks about yogic philosophy and how it applies to everyday life, lots of mantra chanting, pranayama and meditation combined with an intense Jivamukti Yoga based asana practice.
The afternoons are dedicated to workshop-style formats where we dive deep into certain asana groups such as backbends or inversions, explore individual challenges in asana labs, but also turn towards more gentle practices such as grounding Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra. On some evenings we gather to chant in a kirtan, there might be some dancing involved…
Our chef and co-founder Yona is offering nourishing, yet indulgent meals. He will also be offering a pasta workshop. Enjoy basking in the Italian sun, connect with like-minded people and walk around the magnificent surroundings of our villa. And, of course, we set aside an afternoon for a trip to the beach.

Summer Gathering Jivamukti Retreat (Italy)

Evolve Intermediate Jivamukti Retreat

Time To Bloom Jivamukti Retreat
We retreat to remind ourselves we do not exist alone. We are always interconnected, supporting each other, and helping each other to bloom.
After a long winter of hibernation, we crawl out of our cozy dens that kept us warm, ready to shed the layers of cold and dust. It is a time to make space for new beginnings, and just like the world around us, it is time to bloom.
Like the first dip into the spring ocean tides, we will immerse ourselves in the fresh joy of renewal. We will move our bodies, reconnect to our breath, and through these, create space for new ideas and inspiration.
We will begin each morning with meditation and pranayama, followed by a dynamic, sweaty Jivamukti yoga session. A carefully crafted playlist will help you find the beat that pulses within your own body. In the afternoons, we will dive into fundamentals workshops to embody alignment and gain a deeper connection with asana. We will explore yin yoga to find softness and rest, and our evenings will include satsang and kirtan as a space for questions, singing, and meditating together to bloom into our full potential.
Yoga is about connection. It is about relationships—our relationships with ourselves, with our friends, with people we have never met, with the planet and Mother Earth, and with a higher, cosmic consciousness. We will leverage these connections to come together and find new meaning in our own experiences.
