Sheila (she/her) is an Advanced Certified Jivamukti Yoga teacher based in Berlin.

She practices and teaches Yoga as a spiritual discipline and aims to convey to her students what she experiences in her own daily practice.

The base of Sheila’s teachings is built on the ‘eight-limbed path’ (Sanskrit: Aṣṭāṅga = eight limbed) of Yoga according to Patanjali in which the physical aspect of the practice is only one part.

Her Jivamukti Yoga classes are dynamic and fiery - expect to sweat! Classes always include pranayama, meditation and chanting, paired with a carefully selected soundtrack. Sheila is deeply devoted to supporting her students in their practice with skillful verbal and physical assists (if wished).

Sheila teaches weekly classes at Peace Yoga, Yoga Futura and vea Studio in Kreuzberg as well as offering 1-1 private lessons and corporate classes. She hosts workshops and retreats all over Europe.

In 2023, Sheila finished her 800hrs Jivamukti Yoga Teacher Apprenticeship Program (JTAP) under the guidance of Dana Sertel at Peace Yoga Berlin and in January 2024, she received her Advanced Certification.

She is currently renovating an old Italian villa in Italy as a future yoga retreat center at artist space. Find this project under Villa Pravernara.

Sheila is eternally grateful for all the teachers in her life, accompanying her on her path.

Approach

The practices of yoga can be seen as a holistic toolbox which enable us to become more aware about our habitual patterns, our likes and dislikes, and all the mindstuff we carry around with us in our daily lives, so we can finally meet ourselves with true, radical honesty.

Sheila strongly believes that we are never wrong or broken. Yogic practices are there to help us remembering that.

Even though the practices can be incredibly helpful for the individual, Sheila strives to remind herself and her students to offer the benefits of this practice up towards others. Through taking care of ourselves, we can be of better service for our communities and are able to fight for freedom and happiness for all living beings.

For Sheila, being able to practice and teach Yoga is a huge privilege to be aware of.

She aims to hold space for everyone who is interested in this method. All beings are welcome.

LOKAH SAMASTAH SUKHINO BHAVANTU

May all beings everywhere
be happy and free
may the thoughts, words and actions of my own life
contribute in some way
to that happiness and to that freedom for all.
